Wise Equine Sanctuary of Texas
What we do.
We provide ongoing care for horses, sometimes dogs and cats with the help of our staff, volunteers and veterinarian.  The horses we get in have at one time starved, abused or had some kind of neglect.  Some horses are surrendered to us by owners who no longer can keep him or her.
We help educate horse owners who are in need of assistance with natural horse care.  From training, caring, or pasture advise for pasture maintenance program at a low cost.
Offer wild mustang knowledge a one on one program of how to clinic to better understand them. They are not as wild as you think.
Work with local shelters in the area to help the community with offering riding programs and trail rides for anyone interested in horses.
Work with local Humane society to take in seized horses care for them and find them new loving, permanent homes.
Provide care for feral cat TNR (Trap neuter Release) programs.   Check out www.kittico.org

She is a sweet mare who has changed before our eyes from steel blue to a blue roan in our next picture. Here she is in her after shot. Still our little Sweet PeaKid was pretty bad off in this photo. We don't know how much longer he could have lasted if he had not been rescued. Full of ticks and fleas and hair falling off, we pumped him up with good food, garlic powder, apple cidar vinegar and good hay. You will see him in the next shot fully recovered. Here he is all better. And with a little strut to his walk.Zeus is a retired race horse. He was aggressive and mean and I can understand why. He was so malnourished and full of ticks and fleas. We put him on the same diet as Kid and he has now recovered. You will see him in the next shot. Here he is. Zeus has made a full recovery and is doing well in his new home with Charity (the big dark brown bay mare) and Cassey. Here are a couple of mother and son arabians that we took in. Bonnie and Silver was extremely malnourished and is best buddies with Chester who is in the next shot. You will see the after shots in the next couple of photos. Here is Chester. Our little buddy. He is one of our favorite horses. He was just a few pounds underweight but has a serious leg injury and String Halt disease that prevents anyone from riding him. So we use him as a companion horse. Here is Bonnie all better now. She is over twice the size, she is happy, healthy and is the most vocal horse out here.Chester on the left and Silver on the right calming down after a good time of playing together in the sun. Sweet Charity. She is a beautiful horse. Check out her after shot. Charity is part of the Hill County horses. Here she has made a remarkable recovery. I call her eye candy.Starbuck is a great horse. He can do it all. He quickly go adopted after a few months. His new name is Diego. Here he is on his way to recovery. Just about to go to his new home.Forest is one powerful little horse. It took him a few short weeks to gain the weight. In the next shot you will see him doing just fine. Here he is looking better and enjoying a bit of grass. Turns out he is a very loving little man with a great disposition.Takota is a wild mustang. These shots were of her just before giving birth to Tucson and after. Bones is a horse that we helped with our hay program last year. He is olders and is at the point of just eating hay or alfalfa because his stomach can no longer handle grain that is too hard to process. We gave him hay and a hay replacer that helped put some of the wieght back on him.The next couple of shots are of Passion Horse Rescue. We donated hay with our hay community hay program for these PMU horses from Canada last year.
Here are some before and after shots for your information along with our hay program for the needy.
